How is Mysterious Manor different than Crystal Caverns? Is it more than a re-skin?
We created The Mysterious Manor out of a hunger for wanting to do more with the lore and the world, and of course with pushing how far we can go with asymmetric designs, exploring ideas we couldn’t previously. Between the time of finishing Crystal Caverns and then developing Root, we, as designers and developers, learned lessons in terms of usability and flow as well that we can now apply to any of our new projects.
We designed The Mysterious Manor not to replace anything that we’ve previously created, but to be able to stand alone for those who have previously been on the fence to explore with us a world we’re immersed in from another angle and theme if The Crystal Caverns didn’t already do that for them.
In terms of design, of course there will be some similarities and overlap i.e. knight is now a paladin, dragon is now a spider etc. But the ways you play these characters are different from one another in such a way that allows you to swap characters between the two games and plant them in a different landscape and theme and still be able to work and interact with other players and characters, no matter who or what and under whatever theme there is or will be with the same universal concepts according to the system we’ve created.
In short, if you’ve played or enjoyed Crystal Caverns, there will definitely be something new here for you to explore and enjoy. And if you haven’t had the chance to honour us with playing any of our games before, then Mysterious Manor would be a great place to start to get to know us and the games we create.

What's the difference between the retail and Kickstarter edition of Mysterious Manor?
There is no content difference and we’re proud to say we don’t support Kickstarter exclusive content. Any stretchgoals that unlock, will be added to the Creepy Corridors box, which you’ll receive for FREE with your base copy of Mysterious Manor during the Kickstarter campaign, and available for purchase separately at retail after the project fulfills for our Kickstarter backers.
For reference, the retail and Kickstarter editions of The Crystal Caverns are the same as well. Our philosophy is against holding back content in any of our games.

The Manor backer levels states "All Vast Products" but does not mention the miniatures expansion, will this be included as well?

Why should I back this project and not just wait for retail to come out?
Folks are welcome to find copies of any of our games at online retailers. We don’t want to undercut our brick-and-mortar retailers, and our prices reflect that commitment. With this project, we offer an “All In” pledge simply because so many people asked and we’ve been happy to see folks support us.
If people want to support their favorite online retailer, they should do just that. That’s likewise the case for folks that may want to wait until TMM hits the retail shelves of their neighborhood game store. And, for those who want to support us directly, we’ve offered that option as well. In the end, the places you support will determine where growth occurs in this hobby.

This game looks cheap. Why is it 75 dollars?
What you see in the video is a paper prototype. The game is still in development, and we don’t want to finalize components until we are ready. The final product will include the following components: Heavy-weight cards with linen finish and ebony core, featuring dozens of pieces of unique full-color art. A quad-fold, mounted map board. Thick player boards with a finish. Many miniatures!

Can I add other Vast or Root things to my order?
Beyond the levels we are offering, yes, once we open up our pledge manager, you can add more things.
Due to the high demand of Root and to avoid logistical entanglements we are just going to sell it on our website after Gen Con. Thanks!

When Will I Receive My Non Vast: TMM Items?
If you pledged under the Manor Pledge, you will receive all current Vast The Crystal Caverns offerings (base game, miniatures, fearsome foes character expansions and bonus cards) shortly after the campaign ends. Please allow a few weeks to process and forward to the appropriate shippers.
If you purchased Root or Vast The Crystal Caverns as an add-on on your pledge manager, these will ship at the same time as Vast The Mysterious Manor. If you’d like these items earlier, you can purchase them from our webstore at www.ledergames.com plus shipping.

Can I pledge $1 and figure out my pledge later?
Yes, we will have a pledge manager, so you will be able to customize your pledge when the campaign ends. However, if you wait until after the campaign ends to set your final pledge level, we cannot guarantee you the same price or the free expansion that we’re offering Kickstarter backers. We will do everything in our power to keep the price the same after the campaign ends, but some aspects are beyond our control.

No, we did not include the meeples, but you can add 10 dollars to your pledge to get them as an addon. The Mysterious Manor will instead include miniatures in the base game.

What is BackerKit?
